We left Paraty in the morning and hit the road to São Paulo. After 2h trip we managed to reach it.
First impressions:
- it is a huge city
- it has huge traffic
- drivers do not horn like in Asia but still drive crazy ... :P
We dropped our luggage at Djoko's apartment went for lunch and then to visit the city. Well I was quite a fast walk, we went to the downtown and saw the theatre, the opera and the mall.
It is a pity that such a huge city doesn't have a nice downtown with old buildings conserved... São Paulo is just a huge city.
In the night we went to a bar in Villa Madalena district and this really changed my mind about the city: people were having fun, dancing & singing on this Latino rhythms.
We then went clubbing at Dukke as I was insisting to have "Gustavo Lima style music" (I.e the Brazilian country music or sertanejão in Brazil).
Several points about clubbing:
- I was really impressed by the dress code regarding girls (high hills, dresses etc.) and almost none for boys (I was dressed as a tourist).
- here again the club provides with a credit card that you need to reimburse once getring out from it.
- I have never seen so many beautiful girls in a one place in my life... Judging by the fact that I am coming from Eastern Europe where we are also famous about it, you can believe me. They were sexy & "culturally mixed" as the whole country is. However, I have not seen those girls walking in the streets when visiting SP. Djoko explained me that they are part of the "high" society and they usually go to work by car, go to malls and clubbing but never in streets... A pity ! :X
In few words I loved that place and would go back to SP especially for clubbing :)
The next day after a nice breakfast we went to the airport to go to Iguazu.
